Tree from forest in Bhutan Spotted this tree while driving through Jigme Singye Wangchuk national park in Bhutan . The sight was so irresistible that I had to stop for a picture. ( Bhutan, 2015 )

Mountain ranges and forest near Jalori Pass, Himachal

Mountain ranges and forest near Jalori Pass, Himachal Greens with a small tinge of yellow, olive green, dark green, dark green turning blackish, add a tinge of blue, grey, smokey and then it is infinity.  What a colour palette that is. These are the mountain ranges seen from near Jalori pass in Himachal. These are the moments when even earth seems infinite. (near Jalori Pass, Himachal , 2014)

Rhododendron in Pine forest, Taktsang, Bhutan

Rhododendron in Pine Forest I did not find rhododendron flowers to be very attractive but surely their bright red clusters created a nice visual contrast to an otherwise green background of bushes, trees and forests - all in different shades of green. That is where they stood out.

Colours at Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, Bhutan

Colours at Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, Bhutan The driver must have been fed up with me due to the countless requests I made for stopping on the way while we were passing through Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park in Bhutan . Being very gentle, he did not protest and in fact started anticipating places where I would want to stop by. The colours of the trees in the thick vegetation in this forest was nothing less than a treat to the eyes.

Green at Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, Bhutan

Green at Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, Bhutan Driving through Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park in Bhutan was an experience in looking at green. I had never seen so many hues of green colour in one place. This was one forest where I could have stopped repeatedly to shoot pictures.

Light through the forest cover at Kanha

Light through the forest cover at Kanha The feeling of mysterious tranquility can only be experienced in a forest. Few days at Kanha allowed us to soak ourselves in that feeling. The light through thick cover of trees is an eternally enchanting sight. Looking at the trees make you realise that they have been around for a long long time before you appeared on this planet and will continue to be around for a long time after you are gone. Just like the mountains, these trees have the quality of giving you that reality check which many of us need so often.
