Bamboo leaves at home

Bamboo leaves at home Bamboo leaves make fascinating visuals. When seen against light, they look stunning. Shot a series of pictures of these bamboo leaves at the balcony of our apartment. It is fresh green and shades of green with little bit of yellow thrown in at times. Very fresh colours they are.  It had rained for quite some time when I shot these pictures. The atmosphere was perfect. It was as if the conditions were created such that I could capture the true colours with all their hues and the freshness of this life form.  The colours stood out as the leaves were freshly washed with few droplets still gently rolling down the leaves as if to tell the story of the rains that had washed them clean and fresh. Green at a Wadi at Guhagar

Wadi at Guhagar Green at a Wadi, Guhagar Each wadi in Kokan has a dense plantation of trees. The leaves look fabulous when you see them illuminated by the sunrays from behind. Yet there are areas where the sunlight cannot reach, creating beautiful patterns of light and shadow. (Guhagar, 2018) My pictures with their little stories

Bicycle and the house at Guhagar

We came across this house while walking around leisurely in Guhagar. A bicycle parked in the main passage to this house, grabbed all the attention. (Guhagar, 2018) See my blog posts of Seascapes and Coastal Life

Leaves in magenta and green

Leaves in magenta and green Could not believe these colours of the leaves and the way the combination looked against light. Every little detail stood out - the magenta, the green, the overlapping part of the two leaves, the lines on the leaves and the magical illuminating effect due to the sunlight from the back. Green in Bhutan

Green in Bhutan Green in Bhutan . Rich greens of the forests in different hues. Can anything be more soothing and calming ?

Rhododendron in Pine forest, Taktsang, Bhutan

Rhododendron in Pine Forest I did not find rhododendron flowers to be very attractive but surely their bright red clusters created a nice visual contrast to an otherwise green background of bushes, trees and forests - all in different shades of green. That is where they stood out.

Green at Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, Bhutan

Green at Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, Bhutan Driving through Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park in Bhutan was an experience in looking at green. I had never seen so many hues of green colour in one place. This was one forest where I could have stopped repeatedly to shoot pictures.
