Home in Kumaon Hills While walking in the Kumaon hills, we visited several homes. Stocking up for the winter was an essential task for everyone. Their cattle is precious and they need to be fed during the winters when there is snow all around. This is primarily an agrarian economy in a region where many villages in the hills are not accessible by road.

Remote village in Spiti Villages such as Langza and Gomic in Spiti are tiny and remote. They are inaccessible when it snows. Despite harsh conditions, the spirit of the people is indomitable.

Monks returning from an evening stroll to Gangtey Gonpa, Bhutan Gangtey Gonpa is an important monastery in the scenic Phobjikha valley . It is a small village with one street lined up with several shops. The monastery here is historically important and houses several monks. Our walk around the village coincided with the evening stroll of the monks from the monastery.
